found 2 nice pairs of shoes (from dmk/bhg) while shopping with xz on thurs! totally    the dmk pair -  comfy and elegant. xz wanted to buy the black pair but no size for her.. (shud i splurge on a black pair too?) in the end, spent on other stuff too, totalled over 100  serious damage for an afternoon's shopping!

went for an interview that morning too.. tiong bahru.

my newest niece kaelyn's first month party was boring. full of shouting/screaming kids 3-6yrs old, as well as babies. not to mention a limited variety of food.. ha. the saving grace was the view from the 20th storey, unblocked for miles.

met up with mich,ss,elieen & bfs after, where they gave me a mini surprise! cake and present for me and jj.. couple tee. thanks? i guess..

want to watch the 1945 silent version of the picture of dorian gray but i can't seem to find it! in a mood to watch oldish classics.. nowadays the movies are more of action rather than witty conversation. i miss that.

one month gone. when is my job coming along?

went for horseracing outing for the first time (15jan)! thanks to jerrard and his lobang..

we got to go to the members area for free, with priviledged seating  it was fun, but i lost some money betting. pam the lucky bugger won though! can really get addicted to this sorta thing, esp if you have nothing much to do and with lotsa money to spend. much like casino.

early sun monring went with a group of frens to pray for the haiti people, but i was late  no matter, its the thought that counts! we then went to this jap place in wisma for lunch. the desserts were pretty good! some sponge cake thing.. too long le cant remember the names, only the location! its opp mos burger. we had fun gossiping and sharing our thoughts and lives.. it was reali enjoyable.

that evening i had a surprise! a birthday surprise from my family, after eating together at putien. the waitress came with a cake (from swiss gelare? oops. i know its from tampines one) and they sang happy birthday and everything in the restaurant. reminds me of the previous time clara and kriz surprised me at thai express! really memorable and touched.. kudos to sis for the prep work!

treated the family to avatar afterthat. the stupid 3D didnt have chinese subtitles for the parents! opps. will have to watch out for more of these little things next time!

went for an interview on tues. nothing to say, just hope that they will call me back.

finally, trip to phuket.sat jetstar for the first time. it was a little discomforting to have no water to drink for 1.5hrs, and no entertainment to speak of. so ended up sleeping  the thing that i hated most was the bumpy take off/landing.. totally sucks. shan't sit budget if i can help it hahahha.

day 1. mostly spent suntanning at the beach/playing with seawater. the sun was super strong, i was afraid of getting too black so i slathered on lotsa sunblock. SPF70!!!! in the end also kena tanned.. dinner was at patong food park where the wait was damn long coz the cooks only had 2 woks. the whole stretch was the same as the stalls only set up in the evening to cater to dinner crowds. during the day the place is empty/for cars to park.

day2. went phi phi island tour. the islands were beautiful, but the snorkelling wasn't. unlike perhentian, the guides didnt bring us ard to see the corals,etc and most of the corals were dead. no colour at all, and very few varieties of fish. i kena stung on my shoulder blade and arm by some sea creature (jellyfish?) which caused an unpleasant tingling sensation. didnt dare to venture far after that for fear of any side effects. an average tour...                          dinner was at elephant cafe and restaurant where we tried this thai pork dish which was super spicy!!! me and jj only ate like 1 piece each and thats it. our phad thai was filling and normal.  went shopping ard bhangla street etc and concluded that they mostly sell the same things - clothes, massage, tours, food. bought bargained some tourisy tees/shorts for the family

day 3. MY BIRTHDAY!!! went for the 4in 1 james bond island tour. it was great! with the exception of some china tiongs. the scenery was awesome, the people were friendly, the food was good. the best part was the canoeing.. it was super fun to canoe ourselves, squeezing the canoe into tight places, paddling further than most (most chose to have a guide to canoe them ard). a total of 3 places where we canoe-d. dinner was a more dressy affair, and we ate at the savoey, a pretty ex place. the food was good though. esp the garlic/butter mussels! this was also where i fed lotsa mosquitoes with my blood.. bought a mini cake slice back to celebrate where i received a photo-montage! of impt events when we were together.. reali sweet and thoughtful. i bet jj spent alot of time doing it up, considering that it spans 3plus years..

day4. check out day. finally had a lie-in. took our time with packing our stuff for checkout. 3 days of eating hotel breakfast! lucky there were some variations in the offerings. we initally wanted to slack at the beach till our departure time (airport transfer at 8pm) but we changed to spending it at the hotel poolside. it was great too! coz it was free, with towels and a pool to soak in, plus toilets nearby. we were wondering where we could bathe when we saw a couple taking turns to shower at the shower area (where u go to before stepping into the pool) so we decided to follow their example! hahaha. cheapskate, but wad to do! no room to bathe liao.

it was a fun and enjoyable holiday with jj.. thanks pam and th for lending the stuffs to me..

next destination: vietnam/cambodia/laos!

ok back to job hunting!

2 days since the end of the ETP program..

i must say i am enjoying the pace of life, though the "looking for jobs again" part has yet to sink in.

jan is a busy month, with many gatherings/weddings plus the short trip to phuket!!

it will be my first birthday overseas.. wonder how it will turn out

watched sherlock holmes movie. it was awesome, with many subplots and deductions like the stories. except it was a little too action packed for my taste. heh. cant wait for the next one! wonder who will act as prof moriarty. i hope he will give the character more life than in the books. i'm thinking johnny depp! heh

i still dunno wad i want to be.. it is so difficult to choose a job when i dunno wad i want..

and congrats to limin!! for being attached!!!

i wish i had endless funds so i dun have to work at all.. shall give myself 3 months to find a new one. else i will be dangerously close to being penniless. hahaha!
